A Winding Road... |
Getting there is half the funA blog about living life and loving every minute. |
Did I ever mention that I love my job? ‘Cause I totally do! Check out my fancy hotel room!
Albert Gilles Copper Art Museum. These pieces were made of silver rather than copper and reportedly took over 10 years to complete. There were 50 panels but I chose the ones that are the pillars of my faith.
Albert Gilles Copper Art Museum. This museum was so breathtaking. Every piece was handmade by a member of the Gilles family. The craftsmanship and detail was amazing, in the jewelry especially.
Ste Anne de Beaupre Basilica. The Stations of the Cross are shown here as huge sculptures on the hillside. The chapel was built from the materials of the old church.
Chapel of the Immaculate Conception. This is a smaller chapel in the Basilica, dedicated to the Virgin Mary. The inscription on the fence in front of the Pieta loosely translates to, “You who pass, see if there is any pain like mine.”
Ste Anne de Beaupre Basilica. I’m not Catholic but I did have the opportunity to attend Mass here. It took my breath away. The time and dedication it must have taken to complete the structure is inspiring.
Canyon Ste Anne. It was unbelievable! Even I, a self-proclaimed city girl who hates the very idea of dirt and grass, had to admit that this was beautiful. Everything was so full of life! I faced my fear of heights and cross three bridges across rushing water to get to the bottom of the canyon. It was so worth it. I am absolutely in awe of God’s creation.
Beaupre Coast. The entire area was gorgeous. There were little houses built on hillsides, the St. Lawrence river next to us, and plenty of fresh air. It was like having a small town in the middle of the country.
Quebec City. It is so beautiful! I took a lot of pictures but of course I can’t upload them all. It has such an old, European feel to it. So much history in a small space.
Sugar Shack. This is the same place that was featured on Epic Meal Time. It’s the students who realized this first and they had a fanboy moment as they took pictures with the bearded man. Also, don’t let the video fool you; the food is delicious.
