A Winding Road... |
Getting there is half the funA blog about living life and loving every minute. |
Centre Bell. Go Habs go. My only regret is that we took a different exit so I didn’t get any pictures of the 100th Anniversary commemoration. Next time. :)
I have finally come to terms with what my path is not. I am not made to be in university for x years and then dive into a career until I’m 65. I have a thirst for adventure that can’t be quenched so easily.I have avoided making long term plans in the past but this is more of an outline than anything.
When I’m no longer in school I would love to go to England via the SWAP program. After that (or before if I have not gathered sufficient funds) I want to be a flight attendant! It sounds random but it really isn’t different from my current job - switch the bus for a plane and it’s the same!
Somewhere in between I want to live in Montreal. It is my hometown, after all, and it is so beautiful! I’ll use the time to improve my French.
The other major trip I have planned is to Brazil for the 2014 World Cup. From there I suppose life will run it’s course.
I’ve only told a few friends about these plans (dreams?). I may be happy with my decisions but I’m still worried of what my parents will think. Oh well. I’ll cross that bridge when I get there.
St. Joseph’s Oratory. This is the small chapel that began the Oratory.
Nature Shots. These are more pictures. The first two are from my hike on the 1000 Islands. Never again. Yes, it was gorgeous, but I had to do a tick check afterwards. *shudders*
The other picture is just from walking around on Ste. Catherine Street at night time.
Centre Bell. Habs history.
Pointe-à-Callière. This is a really cool time lapse model of the area. It was embedded into the floor under glass panes and had red “You are here” squares too. It was an awesome way of depicting history.
New CN Tower attraction to offer hands-free, outside pod walk
Extreme junkies take note: you’ll soon be able to take a hands-free walk along the outside of the CN Tower’s main pod — 356 metres up in the air.
EdgeWalk is billed as the highest full circle walk on a 1.5-metre ledge in the world.
Similar to another attraction in Auckland, New Zealand, visitors will be attached to an overhead safety rail with a trolley and harness system and will travel in groups of six to eight.
“I’m trying to psych myself up slowly to try this. It will be on my bucket list,” said Mark Laroche, president and CEO of the Canada Lands Company, owner and operator of the CN Tower.
Ste Anne de Beaupre Basilica. The Stations of the Cross are shown here as huge sculptures on the hillside. The chapel was built from the materials of the old church.
Chapel of the Immaculate Conception. This is a smaller chapel in the Basilica, dedicated to the Virgin Mary. The inscription on the fence in front of the Pieta loosely translates to, “You who pass, see if there is any pain like mine.”
Ste Anne de Beaupre Basilica. I’m not Catholic but I did have the opportunity to attend Mass here. It took my breath away. The time and dedication it must have taken to complete the structure is inspiring.
