POC Reading Challenge Part 2

As y’all may know I am participating in a POC reading challenge for 2012. The details are in an earlier post (or click the picture) but basically my goal is this year is to only read books by or about people of color. I just finished the Scotiabank Giller Prize Winner Half-Blood Blues and loved it. It exposed me to an aspect of Black history I had never learned. I may write a review soon.

What have you been reading?

My list so far:

The House of Spirits by Isabel Allende
The Obamas by Jodi Kantor
Half-Blood Blues by Esi Edugyan

The hardest part is being nice to your author when they write like an idiot.

I have lots of books (at least 20) that I have not read at all or have not read in a long time. I’ll draw from those for the #POCreadingchallenge. After that I will most likely buy books, borrow books from friends, or make the long trek to the library. Hope that answers your question!
